About the Role
Our client is a well-known Federal government agency, and a world-leading funding scheme that supports and improves the lives of people who live with a disability. They are currently seeking an APS4 Finance Officer to come in and join their team in Richmond VIC on a 3 month contract assignment with potential for extension.
Candidates for this position must have:
- Australian Citizenship (Federal Government Requirement)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, reporting standards and the general ledger.
- Intermediate to Advance Excel skills.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Processing & Data Integrity: Facilitate transaction processing and extract data from SAP to ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare timely management reports and assist in producing annual financial statements and forecasts.
- Stakeholder Advisory: Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to resolve moderately complex financial enquiries and provide budget advice.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with team process mapping.
- Operational & Project Support: Provide research, analysis, and administrative support for various project initiatives and agency objectives.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Manage financial risks and ensure all activities comply with legislative requirements and APS standards.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions
The successful candidate will possess:
- A desire to work in a Finance function particularly in Financial Accounting and Reporting.
- Background studies in accounting either obtaining or holding a Finance/Commerce Degree or Advanced Diploma.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, reporting standards and the general ledger.
- Problem solving skills and a solution focused approach to work tasks.
- Intermediate to Advance Excel skills.
