Finance Officer (Assistant Accountant Level)
Are you a meticulous Finance Professional with a knack for MS Business Central 365? We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a growing Melbourne team. This is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between core transactional accounting and Assistant Accountant responsibilities, specifically within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for the full spectrum of AP/AR, while taking ownership of critical month-end functions and statutory compliance. We need someone who doesn’t just "do the data entry" but understands the flow of the balance sheet.
Key Responsibilities:
...End-of-Month Excellence: Undertake full-cycle month-end processes, including complex accruals and adjustments.
Reconciliations: Perform rigorous bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
Compliance Management: Ensure all statutory obligations are met (ATO, GST, PAYG, Superannuation, and FBT).
Tax Lodgement: Accurately calculate and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
Operational Finance: Manage AP/AR workflows with a high degree of accuracy.

Required Skills & Experience:
MS Business Central 365: High-level, hands-on experience is mandatory.
Technical Proficiency: Solid experience in AP/AR, moving into Assistant Accountant-level duties.
Industry Knowledge: Previous finance experience within a hospital or healthcare setting is required.
Statutory Savvy: A firm grasp of Australian tax requirements (GST, PAYG, FBT).
Analytical Mindset: The ability to spot discrepancies in complex intercompany accounts and resolve them efficiently.
