• Support assigned functions in all financial matters, including budget management, budget development, and commercial processes.
• Develop strong working relationships with assigned functions and gain a thorough understanding of their operations to enable effective finance business partnering.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and understand service level assumptions, cost drivers, and other factors underpinning detailed budget development across the organisation.
• Prepare financial analysis and modelling to support members of the Senior Leadership Team in key decision-making.
• Contribute to procurement strategy, pricing structures, and commercial evaluation of key procurements to ensure the best value-for-money outcomes for Brisbane 2032.
• Provide data and narrative input to key budget reports for various stakeholders.
• Contribute to overall strategic budget management for Brisbane 2032, including the identification and management of budget risks and issues
• Prepare financial analysis to support key business decision-making.

Skills and Experience

• Professional accountancy qualification.
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications.
• 5 years’ post-qualification experience as a finance business partner, preferably with exposure to large-scale event operations.
• Strong analytical, data visualisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Experience in preparing commercial response schedules for tender processes to support effective decision-making and maximise value-for-money outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system.
• Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, or similar large-scale events (desirable)
