The Role
Are you a trade-qualified leader with a passion for operational excellence? As the Facilities Team Leader - Terminal, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing maintenance team to ensure our terminal facilities, infrastructure, and building services operate seamlessly.
This is a critical "frontline" leadership role where you will balance day-to-day task allocation with strategic oversight, ensuring that every passenger and tenant experiences a world-class environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Coordinate reactive, scheduled, and planned maintenance activities to meet ISO55001 standards and maintain continuous airport plant operation.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Maintenance Officers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service.
- Safety & Compliance: Review and authorize work permits, JSEAs, and SWMSs. Ensure all works comply with WHS and environmental standards.
- Contractor & Budget Management: Manage external contractors and internal resources to deliver maintenance within OPEX and CAPEX budget requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for tenants and airport stakeholders to minimize operational impacts during essential works.
- Emergency Readiness: Participate in airport emergency responses and maintain readiness for unscheduled maintenance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Facilities Management and/or Trade Qualification and/or significant experience in maintaining domestic/international terminal facilities or similar large-scale public infrastructure.
- Leadership Credentials: Cert IV in Frontline Management (or equivalent experience) with a proven track record of supervising teams in an operational environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in civil, electrical, or building services works, and the ability to interpret government regulations and standards.
- Safety Mindset: Expert knowledge in planning maintenance activities and managing high-risk work documentation (JSEA/SWMS).
- Requirements: A current Australian Driver’s Licence and the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Desirable:
- Specialised tickets such as EWP, Forklift, HRW, or MR Truck Licence.
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

As this role involves maintaining a 24/7 facility, you must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and occasionally working irregular hours or night shifts to meet operational needs.
