A leading provider in the modular building industry is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator/Bid Manager for a three-month temporary contract. This role is responsible for coordinating project bids, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of commercially viable tenders that align with company risk management protocols.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all submissions are accurate, timely, and strategically positioned to win. Key accountabilities include:
- Bid & Tender Preparation: Coordinating input from various regional and functional departments to compile comprehensive tender packages.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Working closely with Sales Representatives, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and clients to identify creative solutions and innovative cost advantages.
- Risk & Governance: Identifying contract risks and developing mitigation strategies in conjunction with the project delivery and legal teams.
- Project Handover: Managing the "Clean as Sold" (CAS) process to ensure a seamless transition of building specifications and scopes of work to the Project Manager post-award.
- Financial Oversight: Budgeting costs and ensuring that all revenue and expenditure align with agreed project budgets.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must possess a strong background in the building industry and a proven track record of managing large, complex tenders.
- Qualifications: A trade qualification and a Certificate IV in Building & Construction or Project Management (or equivalent).
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian Standards, BCA, council regulations, and contract conditions.
- Communication: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
