This role supports a national surveillance program that coordinates data to provide a comprehensive and integrated picture of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use in human health across Australia. The position requires a proactive and analytical individual with strong policy and project management skills. The role is more task-based than managing individual projects and involves writing commentary for reports and handling third-party data requests. The successful candidate will also be responsible for duties such as leading the planning and implementation of strategies, managing project activities (including budgets and contractors), and preparing high-quality written reports, briefs, and other documents for various audiences.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in complex project management and policy development within a clinical context. Required skills and knowledge include:
- High-level writing, research, and analytical skills. Due to the team's data-focused work and scientific audience, strong attention to detail and good writing skills are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present, negotiate, influence, and consult with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of the Australian healthcare system, government policy, and issues related to safety and quality in health care.
