Are you an expert in managing strategic projects in personnel security and workforce integrity looking to make a meaningful impact on a national scale?
I am currently partnering with a prominent Federal Government client within the disability sector to recruit a specialised EL1 Specialist Advisor focused on Employment Suitability and Workforce Integrity.
In this critical role, you will lead the design and implementation of a contemporary employee suitability framework that covers the entire employment lifecycle. You will serve as an authoritative voice, ensuring the Agency’s approach to workforce risk is defensible, proportional, and aligned with national protective security and integrity policies.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Framework Development: Lead the design and consultation of a modern suitability framework, ensuring alignment with the PSPF and APS integrity policies.
- Expert Advisory: Provide high-level analysis on complex workforce cases, applying vetting principles to identify potential risks and appropriate mitigations.
- Screening Oversight: Strengthen pre-employment screening settings and integrate risk-based checks into recruitment workflows.
- Ongoing Suitability: Establish practical, risk-informed approaches for monitoring ongoing suitability and managing integrity-related workforce risks.
- Policy & Governance: Refresh and maintain policies and procedures that bridge the gaps between personnel security, fraud, audit, and governance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build collaborative partnerships across People, Culture, Cyber, and Legal teams to promote a culture of integrity awareness.
Ideally you will possess:
- Proven Expertise: Significant experience in vetting, personnel security, or integrity-based roles, preferably within government or regulated industries. Experience leading reforms, governance process or uplift activities highly desirable.
- Framework Knowledge: Strong experience applying PSPF requirements to workforce lifecycle processes, including recruitment and onboarding.
- Analytical Depth: The ability to interpret complex personal information and prepare high-quality suitability assessments and executive briefings.
- Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex work programs, manage competing priorities, and mentor staff.
- Discretion: A proven track record of handling sensitive information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
