...The Role
We are seeking an experienced Designer/Mechanical Engineer Technologist for a 5-month contract based at their Hazelmere site. This role is critical for providing expertise in the design, fabrication, and refurbishment of plant and equipment attachments .
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed manufacturing packages (drawings and DXF files) using Autodesk Inventor
* Scan and capture dimensions of large mining equipment to develop improved designs
* Identify structural failures, perform engineering calculations, and determine technical specifications
* Manage end-to-end design projects from initial concept to as-built completion
* Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards and statutory requirements
* Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the build or repair process
Skills & Experience Required
* Extensive experience with Autodesk Inventor (3D Modelling) is essential
* Proven background in large mining attachment design and fabrication
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Trade with Drafting experience
* Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate manufacturing packages
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and draftsmen
