Title: Data Scientist
Contract duration: 6 months

Join a high-performing Performance and Data Analytics team dedicated to driving productivity and operational excellence through advanced insights. As a Specialist Data Scientist, you will leverage cutting-edge big data technologies to develop data products and quantitative analyses that identify performance drivers and predict future outcomes. This is a Brisbane-based opportunity for a collaborative problem-solver ready to turn complex datasets into actionable business strategies.
What You Will Do:
Investigate complex maintenance and productivity problems using a structured problem-solving approach.
Write code and conduct analysis utilizing a range of technologies to produce actionable insights from data.
Develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive models to drive performance improvement.
Apply machine learning, statistical modelling, and Large Language Models to solve real-world NLP and automation use cases.
Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to formulate asset management strategies and present recommendations at all organisational levels.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
A related tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience supporting business improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for data mining and predictive modelling.
Proven experience in exploring and proposing new ideas that deliver tangible benefits for the business.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while remaining results-orientated.
