As a Data Governance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and administering a robust data governance framework. Working within a regulated environment, you will create practical controls to reduce data risk while collaborating with business stakeholders to promote a culture of high integrity and smarter data solutions. What You Will Do:- Support the implementation and administration of the data governance and information management framework by creating practical controls to reduce data risk.
- Assist in the development and documentation of new data governance policies, standards, and guides to ensure organisational consistency.
- Support Data Owners and Custodians in the creation and curation of critical assets such as Business Glossaries and Data Catalogues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop metrics and dashboards while providing education on data management procedures.
- Monitor data dictionaries and metadata while proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating data-related risks.
- A high-level understanding of data governance and information management concepts, specifically the DAMA DMBOK framework.
- Practical experience using Data Management and Data Governance tools such as Alex, Alation, Collibra, or Informatica.
- Proficiency in interrogating databases using SQL or similar tools to understand data quality and meaning.
- An understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and risk, including CPG235 and Australian Privacy Principles.
- Experience working within an APRA-regulated environment or the financial services sector is highly desirable.
