Job Overview
This is an ongoing position at a brand new 90-place early learning and childcare centre.
- Location: Wedderburn, regional Victoria.
- Role: Responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious lunches and morning and afternoon tea for up to 90 children per day, managing a generous budget, and maintaining a high standard of hygiene in a first-class kitchen.
- Salary: $53,865 - $71,180 per year plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and modify a nutritious, rotating menu that meets the dietary requirements and cultural needs of all children.
- Ensure all food is prepared in line with the Food Safety Act and the service's policies.
- Manage food supplies, stock, and ordering to meet budget requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment and ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Implement and maintain the centre's Food Safety Program.
- Work as part of a team.
- Interact positively with children and families.
- Follow center's policy and procedures.
Mandatory Qualifications and Background Checks
To be eligible for this role, you must either currently hold or be prepared to obtain the following essential qualifications and clearances:
- Mandatory Requirements
- Food Safety
- A Certificate in Food Handling or above
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate
- Child Safety
- Victorian Working with Children Check
- Consent to a Police Check
- International Police Check (required if you have lived outside Australia for 12 months or more within the last 10 years)
- Health & Training
- Current First Aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of the 'Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting' online learning module (or willingness to obtain)
