The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Contracts Officer to join a prominent State Government department based in Perth. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value government projects, ensuring commercial integrity and compliance across the full contract life cycle.
The Role Working within a supportive and professional team, you will be responsible for providing high-level procurement and contract management support. This is a fast-paced role that requires a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
... Contract Life cycle Management: Assist in the development, negotiation, and award of contracts in accordance with government procurement frameworks.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure all contract activities align with State Supply Commission policies and the Financial Management Act.
Performance Monitoring: Track contractor performance, manage variations, and ensure key milestones and KPIs are met.
Stakeholder Liaison: Provide expert advice to internal project managers and external vendors regarding contractual obligations.
Reporting: Prepare high-quality procurement reports, briefing notes, and business cases for senior management.
What You Bring:
Government Experience: Previous experience within a WA State Government procurement or contracts environment is highly regarded.
Expertise: A solid understanding of procurement processes, tender evaluations, and contract law.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and legal documents.
Systems: Proficiency in large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
The Benefits:
Competitive Pay: $52.00 – $58.00 per hour + Super (depending on experience).

Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.
