Randstad is proud to partner with a dynamic and future-focused Local Council in the heart of Sydney to recruit a Community and Place Project Delivery Liaison. This is a pivotal role acting as the primary conduit between vital Council infrastructure projects and the local community.
Offer & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $65 – $75 per hour + super (commensurate with experience).
- Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.
- Location: Based in Sydney
- Hours: 28 - 35 hours per week.
- Start Date: ASAP.
Role Responsibilities
As a key member of the Project Delivery unit, you will lead the implementation of community engagement plans to ensure infrastructure projects align with community expectations.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Strategy & Implementation: Developing and leading Community Engagement Plans that meet strategic objectives.
- Communication: Designing information brochures, letters, and social media content; managing "Have Your Say" pages and monitoring feedback.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Building solid relationships with local businesses and internal Council stakeholders to manage project risks and challenges.
- Event Facilitation: Setting up and facilitating community pop-ups, workshops, and presentations.
- Reporting: Preparing outcome reports and communication memos for Executives and Councillors.
- Project Support: Collaborating on place-making initiatives and managing external consultants and procurement briefs.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience: Proven background in community and place project delivery liaison within the public or private sector.
- Technical Knowledge: An understanding of public space design, construction issues, and project management processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written skills and the ability to reason conceptually to resolve complex problems.
- Relationship Management: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive practical experience.
- Desirable: Prior experience in Local or State Government and familiarity with the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.
