About the Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Communications Consultant to join a major State Government entity. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for large-scale transport infrastructure projects that impact the Western Australian community.
Role Details
- Pay Rate: $60.00 per hour + Superannuation.
- Location: Perth CBD
- Contract Length: Initial 6-month engagement, with potential for extension.
- Hours: Standard 38-hour work week (7.6 hours per day), Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
As a Communications Consultant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of project-related communications. Your duties will include:
- Content Creation: Drafting media statements, newsletters, fact sheets, social media posts, and website content.
- Strategy Development: Designing and implementing tactical communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Representing the agency at community meetings and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external project teams.
- Ministerial Support: Drafting content for Ministerial business, Parliamentary Questions, and briefing notes.
- Issues Management: Managing external customer enquiries, complaints, and escalated claims.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Essential:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering communication materials within a complex project environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop community education and communication campaigns.
Desirable:
- A background in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications.
- Strong experience in writing formal correspondence, such as Ministerial responses and briefing notes.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to facilitate group meetings.
