Randstad Senior Finance is currently partnering with a well-loved Australian retail brand based in the Bayside area. As they enter a critical phase of their financial calendar, we are seeking a sharp, agile Commercial Finance Analyst to join the team on an interim basis for the next 2–3 months.
This is an ideal role for a candidate who enjoys the "nitty-gritty" of financial modelling and thrives during the peak of the annual budgeting cycle. With an immediate start available, this position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the strategic planning of a household name.
About the role:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your primary focus will be supporting the organisation through the annual budgeting and forecasting process. You will assist in managing the financial templates and cash flow management during this period.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide end-to-end support for the annual budget process, ensuring data integrity and timely consolidation of departmental inputs.
Take ownership of complex Excel-based budget templates, ensuring they are functional, accurate, and user-friendly for non-finance stakeholders.
Assist with key aspects of the Group’s cash flow forecasting, providing analysis on variances and identifying trends within the retail cycle.
Perform ad-hoc commercial analysis to support decision-making, focusing on margin performance and operational expenditure.
Work closely with department heads across the retail network to refine their forecasts and provide clarity on financial performance.
Ideal candidate:
To hit the ground running, you will need a strong technical foundation and the ability to navigate complex data sets with ease.
CA, CPA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
Proven experience in a Commercial Analyst or FP&A role, ideally within the Retail or FMCG sectors.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are non-negotiable (lookups, pivots, complex formulas, and basic VBA/Macros are highly regarded).
Experience with ERPs or dedicated planning tools (e.g., Netsuite, Anaplan, or Power BI) is an advantage.
A proactive, "no-fuss" approach with the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines. You must be comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment.
