About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Clinical Operations Manager to lead and manage our clients dedicated Medics team. This critical role oversees the first response unit for all medical emergencies across a major non clinical site.
Reporting to the Head of HSW (Health, Safety & Wellbeing), you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely, and professional first aid assistance. As a key leader, you will maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, oversee operational readiness, and collaborate closely with internal departments, external emergency services, and regulatory bodies.
This is a temporary 3-6 month Full-time position based in Perth, managing a team of 12 direct reports.
Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role are focused on ensuring clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and team support:
...- Operational Readiness & Resource Management:
- Develop and maintain rosters that ensure 24/7 medic coverage, in collaboration with the Workforce Planning team.
- Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained, calibrated, and aligned with current clinical standards and operational needs.
- Ensure First Response equipment and First Aid supplies are appropriately stocked, maintained, and accessible.
- Leadership & Wellbeing:
- Monitor the physical and mental wellbeing of the medic team, particularly following high-stress or traumatic incidents.
- Ensure initial and subsequent structured debriefs occur promptly after incidents to support emotional processing, learning, and recovery.
- Coordinate access to internal and external support services, including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and mental health professionals.
- Governance and Compliance:
- Lead structured reviews of medical incidents to ensure adherence to clinical practice guidelines.
- Oversee safe and compliant medication management practices, including storage, administration, documentation, and disposal.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety and emergency response.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain strong, proactive relationships with Security Operations teams to ensure coordinated and effective responses to medical incidents.
What You'll Need to apply
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
- Proven experience leading an operational first aid or emergency response function.
- Demonstrated capability in escalating and responding to out-of-hours emergencies.
- Strong background in clinical governance.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Clinical competency and sound decision-making under pressure.
- Ability to provide clear direction, feedback, and support, fostering a culture of professionalism, care, and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication across all levels, including preparing performance reports and contributing to strategic discussions.
- Ability to liaise with external regulatory stakeholders.
