About the Business:
A Tasmanian based, privately owned civil contracting company specialising in projects for state and local government, commercial builders, and private sector clients. With a reputation for being a smart and well resourced contractor, they deliver medium to large civil construction projects.
About the Role You will be responsible for the day to day coordination and control of construction activities on site. Working closely with the Management Team, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This is a full time position based in Tasmania with projects located in the greater Hobart area.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations across residential subdivisions, roadworks, and building sites
- Coordinate subcontractors, plant, equipment, and materials to meet project programs
- Undertake and supervise pipework and pavement construction
- Perform GPS set out and ensure the accuracy of all site works
- Implement and monitor WHS and environmental controls
- Prepare and manage SWMS and risk assessments while leading toolbox meetings
- Maintain accurate site records and report on progress and performance
- Lead and supervise site personnel while providing technical guidance and mentoring
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction including subdivisions and roadworks
- Strong understanding of pipework, pavement construction, and GPS set out
- Ability to prepare and implement SWMS and lead a strong safety culture
- Proven leadership and team coordination skills
- Current Construction White Card and a valid Driver’s Licence
- Experience working on medium to large civil projects is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously
