Centre Cook – Heart of the Yarra Valley (Healesville)

Our 90-place early learning centre in Healesville is looking for a dedicated and creative Cook to join our team. Nestled in the stunning Yarra Valley, our centre offers a warm, community-focused environment where you can truly make a difference in the lives of young children through nutritious, safe, and delicious food.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for up to 90 children daily. While we have an established seasonal menu, we value creativity! You will have the opportunity to add your own flair and suggest new recipes that excite the kids.
Key responsibilities include:
...Safety First: Maintaining a gold-standard kitchen including strict Food Safety Practices and meticulous record-keeping.
Allergy Management: Ensuring 100% accuracy when preparing meals for children with specific dietary requirements, anaphylaxis, and intolerances.
Menu Innovation: Contributing to a menu that is as inclusive as it is tasty.
Schedule & Salary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (No weekends!)

What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you must be highly organized and have a "safety-first" mindset.
Mandatory: Current Food Handlers Certificate.
Preferred: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of allergy management and a deep understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP/Food Safety Programs).
Compliance: A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a commitment to child safety.
