As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing innovative category strategies that align with broader business objectives. You won’t just be managing contracts; you will be acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, identifying market trends, and mitigating supply chain risks.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, from market analysis and tendering (RFx) to final contract negotiation and execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain influential relationships with internal business partners to understand their requirements and provide commercial solutions.
Contract & Vendor Management: Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, ensuring service levels are met and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize spend analysis and market intelligence to identify cost-saving opportunities and value-add projects.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively manage ethical, financial, and operational risks within the supply base.
What You’ll Bring
Experience: Proven track record in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, preferably within a large, complex environment.
Negotiation Skills: A high level of commercial prowess with the ability to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in spend analysis and the ability to interpret complex data to support strategic decisions.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to executive leadership.
Qualifications: A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Law is highly regarded; CIPS qualification is a plus.
