Business Development Manager – Australia, China & Asia-Pacific
The Opportunity A premier international procurement and logistics firm is seeking a visionary Business Development Manager to lead our Sydney operations and drive expansion across the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in 2003, we provide comprehensive, end-to-end supply chain services, from sourcing and manufacturing to quality assurance and global logistics. With a diverse product scope and offices in Sydney, Hong Kong, and Mainland China, we offer a dynamic platform for a leader ready to maximise growth in both emerging and developed territories.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Regional Growth
Set strategic directions and implement mid-to-long-term growth plans across Australia, China, and the Pacific.
Build and leverage industry networks to identify new business prospects and partnership opportunities.
Lead collaboration with business heads to identify prospects for profit growth and regional expansion.
Strengthen sales and marketing capabilities to achieve competitive advantages and improve financial positions.
Manage supplier agreements and optimise delivery lines to drive customer satisfaction and efficiency.
Formulate strategic plans to enhance system efficiency and provide regular reporting on business metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Commerce, or equivalent preferred.
- Extensive relevant experience in sales and procurement, logistics, or a similar industry.
- Deep understanding of business culture and etiquette in China and other Asian countries.
- Proven ability in regional strategic planning and organisational leadership.
- Visionary, results-oriented, and highly analytical with strong decision-making skills.
- Experience in managing strategic transport and delivery solutions.
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel to Asia and the Pacific Islands.
Salary & Benefits
Base Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 per annum (commensurate with experience).
Allowances: Car allowance provided for business travel and client meetings.
Incentives: Competitive OTE (On-Target Earnings) structure based on regional performance.
Superannuation: Statutory superannuation contributions included.
Global Exposure: Opportunity to lead operations for an established international firm with a 20-year history.
