- Want to work on world-first, large-scale moving mechanical structures?
- Looking for a $25k investment in your skills, including AWS Certifications?
- Tired of "dirty" workshops and seeking a creative, high-tech engineering hub?
- Want a genuine 38-hour week with a 2:30 PM or 3:30 PM finish?
If you are a trade-qualified Welder or Fabricator who treats their work with surgical precision, this is the career pivot you’ve been waiting for. Our Client is a world-leading Specialist Engineering & Robotics Studio based in Port Melbourne that builds complex, large-scale mechanical systems for the global entertainment industry.
The Opportunity: Precision at Scale
This role isn't working on structural steel, it's high-performance mechanical engineering. You will be fabricating the intricate skeletons for massive, multi-tonne kinetic structures. Because these systems move and perform under pressure, the tolerances are incredibly tight and the standards are elite.
Why this role? The company is committed to your development. They invest $25,000 per person to have your welds externally certified to AWS (American Welding Society) standards—positioning you as one of the top welders in the country.
What’s In It For You?
- Top-Tier Pay: $40 - $50 per hour + Super (dependent on experience).
- Premier Training: Master complex positional welding and gain international certifications.
- Modern Culture: Casual dress, on-site gym, ping-pong, and a supportive, diverse team environment.
- Work-Life Balance: 38-hour weeks with early finishes available (6:30 AM or 7:30 AM starts).
- Clean & Tech-Focused: Work in a state-of-the-art facility with the best equipment available.
What You Will Do:
- Fabricate precision mechanical frames using MIG, TIG, and ARC processes.
- Execute high-stakes Positional Welding to strict AWS codes and standards.
- Interpret complex, multi-layered engineering drawings with 100% accuracy.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of 70+ specialists to bring 3-year long projects to life.
- Maintain "Clean-Room" standards of fabrication and fit-up.
What You Bring:
- The Trade: Cert III Qualified (Fabrication, Mechanical, or Machinist) with elite welding skills.
- The Background: Experience in high-standard environments like Oil & Gas, Maritime, or High-End Structural desirable.
- The Quality: You must be confident enough to pass a rigorous pipe and box weld test during the interview.
- The Mindset: A creative problem-solver who enjoys working on "first-of-its-kind" machinery.
