Are you an expert in APS HR legislation with a talent for navigating complex people matters and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity?
In this critical role within the disability sector, you will provide essential operational and strategic advice through the interpretation of employment legislation and the Agency’s Enterprise Agreement. Working with a considerable degree of independence, you will manage highly confidential and complex matters in an agile, fast-paced environment where priorities evolve quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
Working under broad direction, you will resolve issues and risks of substantial depth, including:
- Expert Advisory: Researching and applying extensive knowledge of APS HR legislation and policies to provide support on complex people matters.
- Investigations: Undertaking Code of Conduct investigations and case management in accordance with the Public Service Act 1999.
- Reviews of Action: Conducting primary and case managing secondary Reviews of Action under Section 33 of the Public Service Act 1999.
- External Jurisdictions: Managing external jurisdiction matters in collaboration with the Legal Services Branch.
- Risk Management: Undertaking risk evaluation processes to make decisions on the appropriate course of action for complex people matters.
- Policy Development: Reviewing, analysing, and managing internal policies and contributing to broader People & Culture policy reviews.
- Data & Analytics: Analysing case metrics to provide the Executive with accurate data to anticipate issues and steer the direction of people management.
Ideally you will possess:
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience conducting investigations and managing complex cases within a public service context.
- Analytical Depth: Excellent research and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex personal information.
- Strategic Leadership: The ability to lead programs, manage competing priorities, and maintain high specialist expertise.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to have difficult conversations and write high-quality reports.
- Integrity: A proven track record of high ethical behavior and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Qualifications: A Cert IV in Government Investigations is highly desirable.
