About the Role
Our client is a QLD government organisation based in Logan Central QLD. They are currently seeking an Assistant Asset Accountant to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 16th October 2026.

Candidates for this role will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Similar
- Proven knowledge and experience in Asset or Management Accounting
- Technology One system experience (Desirable)
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Reporting & Data Integrity: Deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reports by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and investigating variances to ensure data reliability.
Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the asset registers, including tax data updates, physical stock counts, and impairment reviews to ensure accurate asset valuations.
Systems & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain financial systems and workpapers that support audit requirements while identifying opportunities to streamline business operations.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with legislation, accounting standards, internal controls, and policies to maintain transparency.
Strategic Advice & Communication: Translate complex financial concepts into plain language for the Executive Team and to facilitate informed asset management decisions.
Mentorship & Training: Provide technical guidance to the Tax Accountant and deliver systems training to internal clients to improve organizational financial literacy.
About You
You will be an experienced Assistant Asset Accountant with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Similar
- Proven knowledge and experience in Asset Accounting
- Technology One system experience (Desirable)
