The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the Asset Maintenance Engineer - Electrical is a pivotal role dedicated to the delivery and management of AAL’s Asset Management strategy. You will play a lead role in optimising electrical asset performance and informing our 20-year capital replacement program to ensure the long-term reliability of our critical infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Asset Management: Develop, implement, and review asset management plans for HV and LV electrical infrastructure, airfield lighting, and asset control systems.
- Condition Monitoring: Lead the coordination of asset condition assessments for critical Adelaide and Parafield Airport assets.
- Operational Excellence: Support the Engineering Services manager in improving control systems for terminal baggage handling, security, building systems, and airfield lighting.
- Financial Planning: Provide expert input into the development of accurate OPEX and 20-year capital replacement programs (CAPEX) aligned with global best practices.
- Contractor & Technical Leadership: Assist in the management of electrical services contractors and support the internal electrical maintenance team in delivering an effective maintenance program.
- Lifecycle Analysis: Conduct whole-of-life asset condition assessments and performance analysis to ensure systems meet or exceed required performance metrics.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical assets and maintenance activities meet relevant Australian standards and legislative requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant tertiary qualifications in electrical infrastructure asset management.
- Project & Asset Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of asset management principles and the development of delivery plans.
- Technical Savvy: High level of numeracy with the ability to understand complex commercial, financial, and contractual obligations.
- Data Driven: Strong data analysis capability and experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Desirable:
- Systems Experience: Knowledge of the Technology One suite.
- Operational Background: A proven track record of working in complex operational environments with multiple stakeholders.
