Do you have a public health background and sound experience in writing policy , ministerial briefings and cabinet submissions AND awesome communication skills and a great work attitude?
This is an awesome opportunity to work with a great team in the development and implementation of evaluation plans to deliver priority actions in the SA Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy as well as providing strategic advice on alcohol and other drug population health health policy and programs to senior executive. Your stakeholder engagement, time management and organisational skills will ensure the effective communication and coordination of information collection and flow between various departments.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and review of projects, including defining project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Management, coordination and quality review of cabinet submissions and ministerial/parliamentary briefings addressing various matters through the department
- Ensuring a calendar and timetable for briefings and reporting inputs is planned and maintained to facilitate compliance with legislative requirements
- Researching, reviewing and writing policy and interpreting legislation
- Maintain efficient and productive relationships with key stakeholders and departments to ensure timely delivery of policy, briefings and submissions
Ideally you will possess:
- Experience in the health sector and/or tertiary qualifications in public health, health sciences, law or public policy
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in a clear, succinct manner while considering target audience and desired outcome
- Sound analytical skills to identify, evaluate and address issues and an ability to plan and manage tasks, research and associated data with due regard to policy
