The Opportunity
Are you a digital storyteller with a passion for social impact? We are seeking a Digital Communications Officer to join a high-profile, independent Government Department dedicated to equity, inclusion, and system reform.
This is not a typical short-term contract; we are looking for a creative professional to join us for the long term. While the initial contract runs through to June 2027, there is a high likelihood of further extension, offering you the chance to truly embed yourself in our mission and grow with the Department.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Content: Draft, schedule, and publish high-quality visual and written content across social media, ensuring it is accessible and brand-aligned.
Platform Management: Coordinate the Department website (via CMS) and manage EDM campaigns to keep stakeholders and the public informed.
Strategic Engagement: Run targeted social media campaigns (organic and paid) and use GA4 analytics to report on performance.
Nuanced Communication: Demonstrate sound judgement and emotional intelligence when communicating on sensitive social topics.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
Tertiary Qualifications: A degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field; OR
Equivalent Experience: Demonstrated relevant industry experience in a digital-first communications role.
About You
Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in CMS, EDM platforms (e.g., MailChimp), and design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Mobile-First Content: Ability to create and edit short-form video content (Reels, CapCut, etc.).
