Location: Adelaide CBD / Metro
About the Client Our client is a large South Australian State Government department responsible for delivering essential public services and community-facing initiatives. Operating within a highly structured environment, their internal team manages high-volume communications to support both internal personnel and the broader South Australian public.
About the Role Due to an upcoming project requirement, the department's internal Corporate Communications team is seeking an operational Communications Adviser (ASO4 equivalent) for a focused 4-week contract commencing this August.
This is a highly tactical, hands-on role suited to a digital-savvy communicator who thrives in structured environments. A core focus of this position will be the creation and distribution of internal newsletters and digital updates. You will be responsible for executing internal communication streams, updating digital assets, and deploying critical updates across internal digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
Email Marketing & EDMs: Build, segment, and deploy engaging internal newsletters and departmental updates using Campaign Monitor.
Digital Content Management: Maintain, update, and publish supporting internal content across the department’s intranet using SharePoint.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departmental stakeholders to draft, edit, and polish clear operational communications.
Campaign Support: Assist in the roll-out of internal engagement initiatives, ensuring all content aligns with strict agency guidelines and compliance frameworks.
What You'll Need to Succeed To hit the ground running upon commencement, you must bring:
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated, hands-on experience using SharePoint (for CMS/intranet management) and Campaign Monitor (for email marketing/newsletters). Applications without these two platforms cannot be considered due to the short nature of the contract.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail, proofreading, and tone of voice.
Government Adaptability: Previous experience within a State Government department or a similarly structured, high-accountability environment is highly regarded.
Compliance: You must hold a current National Police Certificate (NPC) and possess full, unrestricted Australian working rights.
