About the role:
The Prescription Medicines Authorisation Branch (PMAB) is looking for a motivated professional to join a small, high-impact team at the Client Administration. This role is central to coordinating procurement activities for external evaluation resources and leading critical projects within the Pharmacist Evaluation Section (PES) to support the medicines registration process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Provide direct supervision, performance management, and support to team members to ensure excellence in service provision.
- Procurement & Contract Management: Manage end-to-end procurement functions and contracts for the evaluation of medicines and medical devices across multiple TGA branches.
- Process Improvement: Identify, author, and maintain section policies and standards to optimize service delivery and consistent business workflows.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a subject matter expert and primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues regarding procurement contracts and expert advice panels.
- Strategic Support: Facilitate business process improvements and assist with change management strategies to meet organizational key deliverables and improve efficiencies.
Key Selection Criteria
- Legislative Expertise: Demonstrated sound knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and the Public Governance Performance & Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013.
- Project Coordination: Ability to implement and track work processes under general direction while maintaining open lines of communication.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills used to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the capacity to quickly master new software and regulatory systems.
Desirable Attributes:
- A Certificate IV in Procurement or significant experience leading and managing complex projects.
- Understanding of, or experience in, the regulation of therapeutic goods within the Australian landscape.
