- Paying between $65-75ph + super

About the Role
Our client is a well-known Federal government organisation based in Canberra City. They are currently seeking a Program Support Officer - Finance to come in and support them on a 12 month temp contract with potential for extension.
Candidates for this position must have:
- Baseline Security Clearance (Essential)
- Experience in delivering support and services to projects and programs, either through a formal
- Project Management Office or through a project support role.
- Competency with Office systems and Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
Key responsibilities will include:
- Project Governance & Compliance: Monitor and enforce project management methodologies and standards to ensure all deliverables meet organizational quality requirements.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Synthesize complex project data into clear, concise status reports and dashboards for senior leadership and program sponsors.
- Financial & Budget Tracking: Manage project financial health by tracking expenditures, processing invoices, and flagging budget variances to the Project Manager.
- Schedule Management: Maintain and update integrated project schedules, ensuring milestones are tracked and potential delays are identified early.
- Risk & Issue Coordination: Facilitate the identification and documentation of risks and issues, maintaining a centralized RAid log to drive mitigation strategies.
- Administrative Excellence: Coordinate high-level project meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and the rigorous tracking of action items through to completion.
- Resource & Tool Optimization: Administer project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, or MS Project) and assist in the allocation of human and material resources across the program.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance Program Support Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience in delivering support and services to projects and programs, either through a formal Project Management Office or through a project support role.
- Understanding of ICT operations and development in a medium to large sized organisation including complexity of managing resources (people, budgets and deliverables).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to interpret data, understand numerical information and apply data analysis skills.
