Are you a highly organised procurement or logistics professional with a knack for keeping complex projects on track? We are seeking a Planning Support Officer to join a dynamic team supporting construction and operational activities in unique and challenging environments.
Working under the guidance of the Construction Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that materials, equipment and services are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will work with limited supervision to support high-level planning and on-site activities. Your core duties will include:
- Procurement & Expediting: Manage the end-to-end procurement process including requisitioning and expediting ensuring all activities comply with organisational rules and systems.
- Logistics Management: Receive materials and equipment, ensuring everything is accurately entered into consignment systems and consolidated for specific project groupings.
- Contract Management: Oversee and manage contracts associated with the procurement of materials and services.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a bridge between Project Leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and on-site trade teams to resolve issues regarding resourcing, materials and methods.
- Documentation: Maintain rigorous filing systems for supplier documentation and manage registers, status reports and project updates.
What We Are Looking For
Knowledge and Experience
- Proven experience in procurement practices, including the procurement of equipment, materials and services.
- Strong background in contract management.
- Exposure to work and resource planning within the building trades (highly desirable).
- An appreciation of working within remote or extreme environments is a significant advantage.
Skills and Capabilities
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
- Organisation: High attention to detail and the ability to self-manage during peak workloads.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and experience using computer-based asset management or maintenance systems.
Requirements
- Citizenship: Applicants must be Australian Citizens.
- Clearances: Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check.
