This is an exciting opportunity offering an immediate start for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to join a core team within a Queensland State Government Department on the Gold Coast. You will act as the central hub for the team, supporting senior management by facilitating the strategic reporting and governance cycle. Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-level project and administrative support to senior management and act as a key liaison across multiple business streams to facilitate strategic alignment.
- Coordinate all high-level governance meetings (including scheduling, preparing agendas, and distributing materials), taking accurate minutes, and maintaining a clear, auditable log of actions and decisions related to the portfolio.
- Contribute to the compilation of progress reports and performance documentation, ensuring accurate data tracking and alignment with the department’s corporate strategic cycle and official reporting requirements.
- Ensuring project plans, policies, and all essential governance documents are version-controlled, up-to-date, and readily accessible for stakeholders.
Skills/experience required:
- Proven experience in a similar Project Support, ideally within a Public Sector or a large, structured environment.
- Prior experience in a Corporate Governance or Portfolio Management environment is highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Prince2).
- Familiarity with QLD government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports, policies, and procedural documents.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including a clear criminal history check.
