Are you a strategic leader in international admissions with a proven track record of managing complex overseas operations?
A major Australian university is seeking an Admissions Lead – South Asia to spearhead their admissions functions across the region. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for establishing, optimising, and maintaining the systems, processes, and staffing frameworks for a dedicated in-country office based in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee South Asian admissions functions, fostering a high-quality, compliant, and student-centric service culture.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain critical collaborative partnerships with key internal and external international stakeholders.
- Compliance & Policy: Monitor, interpret, and apply relevant legislation, government directives, and sector trends to ensure all operations strictly align with institutional objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide high-level strategic advice and drive systemic improvements across existing operational frameworks and processes.
- Global Availability: Given the international scope of this role, availability to work flexibly outside standard Brisbane business hours is required to support cross-timezone operations.
Location & Flexibility
- Primary Base: Based at a beautiful North side Brisbane campus.
- Hybrid Work: The University supports flexible, hybrid working arrangements (part of the week from home) while working in Brisbane.
- International Travel: Frequent, substantial travel within South Asia is a core requirement of this role. Please note: Flexible hybrid arrangements apply only while based in Brisbane, as extensive fieldwork is required when travelling.
Position Requirements
- Education & Experience: A postgraduate qualification (or equivalent comprehensive experience) coupled with extensive leadership experience in international admissions and managing outsourced or contracted services.
- Regulatory Expertise: High-level expertise interpreting and applying complex policies and legislation relevant to international student admissions (e.g., ESOS Framework, National Code).
- Cultural & Language Fluency: Demonstrated deep cultural competence and language fluency relevant to the South Asian market. Fluency in Hindi is highly desirable.
- Travel Readiness: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, medical clearance confirming fitness to travel and work in India for extended, frequent periods.
- Work Rights: Ongoing, unrestricted full-time working rights in Australia are required.
