We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager to manage a defined Territory, which includes a list of current and prospective distributors. As the external sales representative, you will be expected to maximise the market presence for the company's products and services in line with the national strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Distribution Management
- Develop and grow the company’s business.
- Develop and maintain a structured call cycle plan ensuring appropriate time is allocated to all current and potential customers.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships with Distributors and major End Users to maximise sales opportunities.
- Expedite resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within the designated territory.
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and the internal customer service team.
Product Promotion & Training
- Effectively present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
- Retain and develop relevant product knowledge, techniques, and sales skills.
- Plan for and conduct marketing activities, including trade shows, demonstrations and promotions, along with product training with distributors and end users.
Reporting
- Provide feedback that supports ongoing growth plans.
- Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales, and provide status reports.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant feedback and information in the monthly reports.
- Ensure sales and expense reports are submitted as scheduled.
This role would suit either a candidate with industrial sales experience or a candidate who is looking to move from a tool/retail background into an external sales position.
