About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Weighbridge Operator to join our busy team at our concrete crushing and transfer station facility in Hendra. As the first point of contact for truck drivers and contractors entering the site, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of traffic, accurately weighing vehicles, and ensuring all compliance and safety standards are met.
This is a fantastic entry-level or experienced logistics role offering a stable Monday-to-Friday routine, excellent hourly rates, and a genuine path to a permanent career.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the weighbridge office. Your duties will include:
Vehicle & Weight Management: Operating the weighbridge software to accurately record inbound and outbound vehicle weights (gross, tare, and net weights).
Data Entry & Documentation: Issuing accurate weighbridge dockets, invoices, and receipts to drivers, and ensuring all material data is correctly entered into the system.
Customer Service: Greeting drivers, contractors, and visitors professionally, verifying their loads, and directing them to the correct tipping or loading areas on-site.
Compliance & Regulation: Ensuring all vehicles comply with legal weight limits and site environmental/safety regulations before exiting or entering.
Fee Collection: Processing payments (cash/EFTPOS/account) for commercial and public customers tipping concrete or picking up recycled aggregates.
Communication: Standard radio communication with heavy machinery operators on the ground to coordinate traffic flow and material stockpiles.
Basic Administration: Maintaining a clean and organised weighbridge office, filing daily reports, and assisting the site manager with light admin tasks as required.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience as a Weighbridge Operator, Gatekeeper, or in a similar site administration/logistics role is highly regarded (but not essential—training will be provided!).
Strong computer literacy and confidence learning new software.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a thick skin for a fast-paced industrial environment.
High attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and financial tracking.
Commitment to a 6:00 AM start and a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
Reliable transport to Hendra.
