About the role:
The Training Officer is responsible for the delivery and development of operator and maintenance training for EOS products and systems. The role supports live‑fire training activities, demonstrations, product testing, and customer engagement activities across the business. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate confidently in operational and customer‑facing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Training, Demonstrations and Event Delivery
- Deliver operator and maintenance training for EOS products and systems.
- Support and conduct classroom, practical, and range‑based training activities.
- Conduct and/or support live fire activities including training, demonstrations, and product quality testing.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of demonstrations and evaluations.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of training materials and courses.
Customer Engagement & Support
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular dialogue with customer operators and maintenance teams.
- Elicit, capture, and review customer feedback on latest products and innovations.
- Provide professional representation of the company at customer sites, range complex, training events, demonstrations, and trade shows.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with EOS standards and safety protocols.
- Ensure safe, compliant storage, handling, and transport of weapons and controlled items in line with all company and legal requirements.
- Ensure all training and live-fire activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Ability to travel and work in remote or challenging environments.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar training, instructional, or operational role.
- Weapons qualifications (Various)
- Fully Automatic Weapon Experience
- Experience working within the defence sector
- Experience delivering training in technical or operational environments
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience in technology related to EOS product lines (weapon systems, space sensors, communications, electro-optical systems, laser systems, remotely operated systems).
- Experience handling and operating weapon systems in a range environment
