Technical Lead
Contract duration: 12 months fixed term
Location: Brisbane
As a Technical Lead, you will join a newly formed team of innovative data practitioners focused on maximising value-adding opportunities through the technical function. This role involves leveraging data, operational, and engineering expertise to deliver incremental, step-change, and innovative solutions across the value chain. You will work collaboratively alongside site operations, business subject matter experts, and data analytics professionals to turn complex challenges into high-value business outcomes.
What You Will Do:
Provide technical team leadership to help solve problems and streamline analysis.
Lead analysis projects focused on maximising performance and value opportunities across the value chain.
Build strong working relationships with the data community and identify business requirements to address stakeholder problems.
Document, explain, and present analysis solutions to both technical and senior business stakeholders.
Mentor other team members in technical leadership to foster continuous improvement.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
At least 5 years of experience using Python for data science and 3 years of experience with SQL.
More than 3 years of experience working specifically within the mining or resource industry.
Proven experience delivering performance improvement solutions using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and mentoring other team members.
Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across different areas of expertise.
