As a Talent Attraction and Acquisition Specialist, you will support the delivery of Queensland's $2 million TAFE teacher recruitment drive.
Your focus will be on proactively identifying, engaging and nurturing prospective vocational education
trainers and assessors (‘TAFE teachers’) from targeted industry cohorts, guiding candidates through the early stages of their journey toward a teaching career in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
You will be the first point of human contact for many candidates, and your ability to build rapport, communicate clearly and represent the opportunity compellingly will be central to the success of the campaign. You will operate in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where candidate engagement, pipeline management and effective communication are core to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound and inbound candidate engagement activities, including face-to-toface, phone and digital outreach, to identify and connect with prospective TAFE teachers from targeted cohorts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates across priority industries - including but not limited to construction and trades, health and community services, hospitality and tourism, and information and communications technology - guiding them through the early stages of the recruitment journey.
- Liaise with registered training organisations to support talent identification and candidate matching.
- Deliver consistent, accurate and compelling information about VET teaching pathways, accreditation processes and available support to prospective candidates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to date candidate records and pipeline data, contributing to weekly reporting on outreach activity, conversion rates and cohort engagement.
- Implement candidate engagement scripts, outreach frameworks and sourcing strategies in accordance with established guidelines and contribute to their ongoing improvement.
- Participate in regular team check-ins, working collaboratively within a small team to achieve campaign objectives.

As the Team Leader - Talent Attraction and Acquisition Specialists, you will support the delivery of
Queensland's $2 million TAFE teacher recruitment drive.
Your role is to identify and engage candidates. You will lead the day-to-day operations of a small
recruitment facilitation team, serving as the primary point of coordination between the team and the Program Manager. You will bring significant recruitment or talent acquisition experience to drive outreach strategy, develop engagement tools, and coach team members - while remaining hands-on in candidate engagement activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the program meets its pipeline and milestone targets within a defined timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- You will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Talent Attraction and Acquisition Specialist cohort, providing clear direction, managing workload allocation, and maintaining team momentum against program KPIs. You will serve as the first point of escalation for team members and report directly to the Program Manager.
- Drawing on your recruitment expertise, you will develop and refine outreach scripts, candidate engagement frameworks, and cohort mapping approaches to maximise the quality and volume of candidate interactions. You will ensure resources are fit for purpose and regularly updated to reflect program learnings.
- You will maintain a program-level view of the candidate pipeline, tracking engagement activity, conversion rates, and cohort representation. You will produce regular reports for the Program Manager and contribute to milestone reporting obligations.
- You will conduct outbound engagement (including face-to-face, phone and digital outreach) with prospective candidates from targeted cohorts.
- You will contribute to the program's governance activities, including weekly team check-ins, milestone reviews, and debrief sessions. You will document processes, tools, and insights throughout the engagement to ensure a comprehensive knowledge transfer at the Program conclusion.
- You will support planning and delivery of face-to-face outreach activities, including regional travel where required, working with the Program Manager on scheduling.

Contributes to strategic program goals: You understand the broader purpose of the program and connect day-to-day team activity to program outcomes. You proactively identify risks to delivery, raise issues early, and contribute solutions.

Qualifications/Experience
- Relevant experience in recruitment, candidate engagement, sales or a related field is highly regarded.(AO6)
- Relevant experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, business development or a related field, including demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team, is required. Familiarity with the vocational education and training (VET) sector, or with one or more of the target candidate cohorts (ADF, skilled trades/professionals, returnees to the workforce), is highly regarded but not essential (AO7)
