Randstad is proud to partner with a prominent WA State Government agency to recruit for multiple contract opportunities within their independent internal audit function.We are seeking analytical, detail-oriented professionals for various Level 5 (Senior Auditor) and Level 6 (Principal Auditor) positions. Operating as a critical piece of the agency’s governance framework, you will provide independent assurance, risk management oversight, and drive continuous improvement across financial, operational, and technological domains.
- Pay Rate: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
- Location: Perth CBD
- Contract Length: short-term (3–6 months) and medium-term (6–12 months) opportunities
- Australian Citizenship is required.
Role Responsibilities
Depending on the level of appointment (Level 5 or Level 6), your responsibilities will include:
- Auditing & Assurance: Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and execute a wide range of comprehensive, complex risk-based audits (including system controls, compliance, IT, operational performance, and sensitive covert audits).
- Strategic Planning: Assist in preparing risk-based strategic internal audit plans to identify key areas for review, focusing audit effort on high-risk and high-value areas.
- Reporting & Advice: Prepare formal, high-quality audit reports detailing risk-rated findings and actionable recommendations; present these findings clearly to senior executive leadership.
- Contract & Procurement Management: Undertake procurement planning, evaluation, and management of external specialist contractors for outsourced audits.
- Governance Compliance: Ensure all audit activities align with the Financial Management Act 2006, Treasurer’s Instructions, and Global Internal Audit Standards.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications: Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial proven experience within an internal audit environment.
- Communication Skills: High-level proficiency in written report writing and verbal presentations, with the ability to articulate complex findings to senior and executive management.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong conceptual and analytical skills to undertake comprehensive reviews in a large, complex organisation, formulate recommendations, and develop innovative solutions.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of contemporary internal auditing standards, methodologies, risk management concepts, the Financial Management Act 2006, and Treasurer's Instructions.
- Project & Contract Management: Demonstrated skills in delivering time- and budget-based outcomes with minimal supervision, alongside experience in procurement and contract management within a government or similar environment.
