The Senior Policy Adviser is a high-level subject-matter expert responsible for providing leading governance and corporate law expertise within a multi-disciplinary education and policy leadership department. The position demands a self-starter with a commitment to excellence, highly developed written skills, and the personal leadership necessary to influence both internal and external stakeholders.

• Deep knowledge of corporate governance practice and regulation.

• Highly developed drafting skills to produce policy submissions, research reports, and presentations.

• Analytical prowess to evaluate complex policy options and provide recommendations for reform.

• Strong networking abilities to build deep professional connections and relate effectively to a community of leaders.

• Resilience to cope with pressure and setbacks while maintaining high professional standards.

• Direct experience providing advice to boards and directors on governance matters.

• Proven experience in public policy advocacy and government relations.

• Sector Relevance: Experience within Federal Government is highly preferred. We are looking for candidates with a background in Treasury, Cyber, Digital, Corporations Act, Business, or Regulatory environments. Experience within the Attorney General’s office is also highly regarded.

• A degree in Law, Politics, Commerce, or Economics (candidates with extensive relevant experience may be considered if they do not hold a law degree).

• Experience specifically with a Federal regulator, government body, or investor group.
