Position: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: East Perth (with 1 day/week WFH after initial 3 months)
Term: initial 6-Month Contract (High possibility of extension or internal transition; role is back filling a 2-year secondment)
Arrangement: Full-Time, Monday – Friday
Join the Financial Strategy & Planning unit and play a pivotal role in managing the internal budget management framework. This position is crucial for bridging the gap within our internal budget management system, ensuring accurate forecasting, performance monitoring, and strategic resource allocation.
You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders, transforming complex financial data into actionable corporate insights.
Internal Budget Management: Manage the internal budget framework, monitor budget performance (including salaries, capital works, and revenues), and identify budget variations and trends early.
Financial Analysis & Modelling: Conduct complex financial analysis, build and maintain financial models, and complete initiative costings and scenario analysis.
Strategic Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of monthly budget management reports for the Corporate Executive, cash flow forecasts, and operating statements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Provide timely management accounting advice to internal business partners and senior management.
Core Technical Skills:
Strong Budgeting & Analysis: Proven financial and budget management experience within a medium-to-large organisation. Previous government experience is highly preferred.
Advanced Excel & Modelling: Exceptional Excel skills with the ability to build data-driven financial models and analyse complex business trends.
Key Mindsets & Interpersonal Skills:
Proactive & Eager to Learn: A self-starter who looks ahead to identify emerging budget issues and takes initiative.
Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work cohesively within a dedicated team environment and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
Level-Headed & Analytical: A structured thinker who remains calm under pressure and meets tight budget-cycle deadlines.
Stability with Flexibility: A stable 2-year project runway with an initial 6-month contract and high potential for extension or internal rotation.
