About the Role
Our client is a WA State government organisation based in Fremantle WA. They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer to come in and work with their team on a temp contract opportunity until December 2026.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Experience and skills in using financial systems including the ability to consult and provide high level financial advice to management and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Advisory: Provides financial counsel to executive leadership on policy, risk, and business performance.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinates the preparation and monitoring of recurrent, capital, and trust fund budgets.
- Reporting & Compliance: Supervises internal and external financial reporting to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Capital Program Management: Manages the financial lifecycle, systems, and forecasting for the Capital Works and Maritime programs.
- Revenue & Cost Analysis: Oversees cost-recovery models, debt recovery, and the development of unit fees and charges.
- Team & Project Leadership: Supervises the finance team and leads projects to improve financial systems and service delivery
About You
You will be an experience Senior Finance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Financial management experience and skills including the ability to monitor and report on complex budget and other financial issues.
- Experience and skills in using financial systems including the ability to consult and provide high level financial advice to management and stakeholders.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and consult with a range of stakeholders in various contexts.
- Organisational and planning skills.
- Conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to work in an autonomous manner and within a team environment.
