About the Role
Our client are a well-known WA State government organisation based in the Petro CBD area. They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team on a 3-6 month temp contract with possible extension to 9 months.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, and Finance
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and data tools to provide accurate and timely reporting, providing insights
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership: Drive departmental governance and strategic goals by providing expert financial advice that ensures transparent, accountable executive decision-making.
Strategic Business Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor, delivering proactive analysis and specialist insights to optimise resource allocation and operational performance.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the delivery of accurate management reports, KPIs, and annual financial statements in alignment with reporting frameworks.
Budget & Estimates Management: Coordinate the full State Government budget cycle, including Mid-Year Reviews, estimates, and submissions aligned with departmental priorities.
Process Improvement & Governance: Enhance financial systems and reporting frameworks while modeling ethical behavior and a solutions-oriented, customer-focused culture.
Project & Specialised Funding: Provide financial oversight for externally funded projects and programs (e.g., Royalties for Regions), including complex forecasting and performance monitoring.
Operational & Emergency Support: Execute varied financial duties and participate in incident management activities as required to support departmental capability and response.
About You
You will be a highly experienced Senior Finance Business Partner with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, and Finance
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and data tools to provide accurate and timely reporting, providing insights
