About The Role
The primary role of the Senior Environmental Advisor is providing specialist technical advice and support to the site and to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory obligations, and achieve outcomes outlined in the PEPR. The Senior Environmental Advisor is responsible for achieving or exceeding stakeholder expectations on environmental management onsite.
Core responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation, company environmental policies and procedures and relevant regulations
- Minimise site environmental impact, particularly in the areas of radiation management, dust control, surface water, groundwater management, storage of chemicals, waste and recycling
- Implement and manage site environmental improvement projects
- Provide expert technical environmental advice to operations teams
- Act as Radiation Safety Officer and provide management of radiation monitoring across multiple sites
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation
- Actively promote environmental compliance and performance
- Manage and investigate environmental incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed and closed out
- Manage statutory reporting of environmental incidents
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Specialist experience in environmental chemistry, soil science or radiation monitoring
- Minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role
- Licensed Radiation Safety Officer or willing and capable to obtain
- Capability to prepare and deliver environmental awareness and training to the workforce
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Advanced computer skills including ArcMap (ArcGIS) and Microsoft Suite
- Current unrestricted driver license and the ability to safely operate a 4WD in remote or off-road locations
- Proven written and verbal communication, influencing, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in people management or supervising contractors is highly regarded
- Additional qualifications or experience in environmental auditing, NPI and NGERS reporting or nationally recognised drone pilot qualifications will be considered advantageous.

This permanent role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster with camp accommodation supplied.
