Are you looking to advance your finance career without having to travel to Sydney? Our client is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join their growing team in the heart of Wollongong. This role offers a diverse portfolio, requiring expertise in both Consumer and Commercial lending to support our client’s strategic risk management and credit operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a critical part in the credit life-cycle, from initial assessment to presenting recommendations. Your day-to-day will involve:
Credit Assessment: Critically evaluate business financials, including P&L, balance sheets, tax returns, and cash flow.
Modelling: Use sophisticated credit models to accurately score business applicants and clients for credit facilities.
Compliance: Ensure all activities align with the Australian regulatory environment, specifically NCCP and Responsible Lending obligations.
Reporting & Strategy: Prepare detailed credit memos and present structures, terms, and conditions to senior management and credit committees.
Collaboration: Work closely with Sales and Enablement teams to assess risk and provide advice on ad hoc credit queries.
Policy Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit policies and support the Chief Risk Officer with reporting requirements.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will need a blend of technical financial acumen and strong interpersonal skills:
Experience: A minimum of 3+ years in credit analysis across both consumer and commercial lending sectors.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance (preferred), Business, or Commerce.
Technical Skills: Advanced ability to interpret complex financial data and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for report preparation and stakeholder presentations.
Attributes: Superior attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a disciplined, process-driven environment.
Working Conditions
Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Location: This is a 100% in-office role based in Wollongong, NSW.
