WHS Field Advisor, Expression of Interest – Civil Engineering & Specialized Construction
Are you a dedicated Work Health and Safety professional who sees prevention as a calling, not just a compliance checkbox? Are you ready to bring your energy and hands-on expertise to complex, challenging, and high-stakes construction environments?
We are seeking Field-Based WHS Advisors for potential opportunities with Global Leaders in Civil Engineering and Specialized Construction. This is your chance to join teams that demand excellence and where your passion for safety will make a tangible, life-saving difference every single day.
The Role: Your Commitment, Our Safety Culture
This is not an office job; it is a role for a proactive, visible site leader.
You will be the key influencer of the safety culture, acting as a true coach and mentor for our client's site teams.
... Be the Site Champion: Spend the majority of your time embedded in the work zones. Your presence drives compliance: conduct safety walks, audits, and engaging safety conversations with front-line workers.
Drive Behavioural Change: Use your enthusiasm to run daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and targeted training. You are the guardian of every employee’s right to exercise their "STOP" authority.
Master Complex Risk: Provide expert advice and validate controls for critical, high-risk tasks inherent to heavy civil projects (extreme working at heights, complex lifting operations, traffic management, structural constraints).
Passionate Investigator: Turn every incident and near-miss into a critical lesson. Lead urgent on-site investigations with determination and rigour to identify and eradicate root causes.
Strategic Field Partner: Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure safety is naturally integrated from project planning through execution.
Your Profile: Expertise and Vocation
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate not only the required qualifications but also the drive and practical site knowledge.
Essential Field Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of intensive, continuous, hands-on experience as a Safety Advisor/Coordinator on heavy civil, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
Qualifications: Diploma or Advanced Certificate (WHS) or a recognized equivalent qualification.
Leadership & Influence Skills: Exceptional ability to motivate, coach, and manage change directly on the job floor. Your communication must be clear, compelling, and inspiring.
Operational Rigour: Proficient in risk analysis methodologies and investigation techniques.
Autonomy and Resilience: Proven ability to take initiative, stand firm on safety standards in challenging situations, and maintain a high level of energy.
