About the Role
Our client is a well known WA State government organisation. They are currently seeking a Project Officer - Financial Data Analysis to come in and join their Fremantle team on a 3 month temp contract with a possible view to extend to June 2026.
Candidates for this position must have:
- 2-3 years Power BI experience
- Intermediate skills with SQL system
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong Financial Acumen and report writing skills
Key responsibilities will include:
Financial data analysis / Intelligence Gathering: Synthesises complex financial datasets to provide actionable business intelligence and strategic insights.
Data quality and remediation: Audits datasets for accuracy and performs cleanup activities to maintain high standards of data integrity.
Power BI report creation and development: Builds and manages interactive dashboards to provide visual clarity on key business performance metrics.
Ad hoc report and statistics for operations: Generates specialized reports and operational data on demand to support immediate management needs.
Supports coordination and delivery of service, meetings, planning functions: Facilitates operational workflows, organises key meetings, and assists in departmental planning initiatives.
Deliver accurate and timely reporting: Manages the end-to-end reporting cycle to ensure all deliverables are precise and meet strict deadlines.
Process improvement and optimisation: Identifies technical or manual bottlenecks and implements solutions to enhance reporting efficiency.
Forecasting and trend: Analyses historical patterns to create predictive models and identify future business or financial trends.
Administrative tasks: Handles essential clerical and supportive duties to ensure the smooth daily operation of the department.
About You
You will be a proven Project Officer in Financial Data Analysis with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Power BI 2-3 years experience (necessary)
- Microsoft Power BI certified (necessary)
- Intermediate SQL (necessary)
- Advanced Excel (necessary)
- Financial acumen (necessary)
- Project management certification(s) (desirable)
- Report creation and writing (desirable)
