Project Manager - Advanced Space Capabilities
Randstad is currently partnering with EOS (Electro Optical Systems) on an exciting new role within the software testing space. As part of broad, on-going growth within the space team, the business has a need for an experienced Project Manager with knowledge or experience around Advanced space capabilities or interested in future space projects.
This is a permanent opportunity, full-time onsite based in Hume, Canberra.
About the Role
Strategic Program Enablement: Provide strategic leadership to equip project teams with the essential knowledge, advanced tools, and proven frameworks necessary for the successful delivery of complex, high-impact programs.
Stakeholder Communication & Alignment: Drive clear, consistent, and proactive communication across all engagement levels, ensuring seamless alignment between technical teams, management, and key external stakeholders.
Senior Project Accountability: Serve as the senior point of accountability for assigned projects, meticulously overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation to consistently meet stringent contractual and organizational objectives.
Comprehensive Project Governance & Control: Lead and manage robust project governance, including:
... - Establishing and maintaining critical documentation and configuration control systems.
- Coordinating supplier and subcontractor performance to guarantee timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Designing and optimizing efficient workflows that ensure both productivity and regulatory compliance.
- Implementing robust quality assurance and control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strategically prioritizing and sequencing tasks to meet demanding and accelerated delivery schedules.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will bring a fresh and enthusiastic approach to the team with new ideas on new product development for space intelligence and space control. Additionally, you’ll need:
- Proven experience within engineering, aerospace, and NPD (New Product Development)
- Some knowledge around directed energy (understanding of lasers or radar is advantageous)
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Defence Studies, Business Administration, or Project Management is essential
- Demonstrated experience in project management, a strong grasp of formal project management methodologies, and relevant academic credentials aligned to the discipline.
- A proven track record of delivering engineering projects within complex engineering environments
- All applicants must hold Australian citizenship
- Experience in working with precision ground based optical systems, space surveillance, or advanced defence technologies
