Randstad is currently working with a high profile local government department. Due to growth and the continuous drive to deliver outcomes and large scale capital projects for the people of Sydney, they are seeking a Procurement Business Partner for a 6 month basis.
This is a role where you will be able to achieve outcomes on projects that truly add value. You will work alongside experienced construction industry and government professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- High-quality customer service is provided to internal and external customers in line with Council’s customer promise.
- Procurement and contract management advice is provided to stakeholders across the Council to ensure governance and probity.
- Non-conformance or supplier issues are managed in coordination with council departments.
- Procurement meetings, including inception, supplier, and evaluation meetings, are facilitated with stakeholders from different levels and organisations.
- Contractors and suppliers are monitored for Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance.
- Process-driven tasks are completed with precision, including the preparation of Request for Quotes, Request for Tenders, and final contracts.
- Positive relationships are developed and maintained with contractors and internal teams to support effective service delivery.
The Successful Applicant Will Require
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach is demonstrated by taking responsibility for own work and contributing to a productive work environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for providing advice and guidance to internal customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems such as SAP or Finance 1 is required.
- A genuine interest in procurement is supported by a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- Excellent customer service is proven through experience in a medium to large organisation.
- Sound problem solving and negotiation skills are required to manage procurement processes effectively.
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence is required for this position.
