Principal Program Officer
Are you a highly analytical program or grants professional ready to shape the future investment landscape for public infrastructure and services? We are seeking a Principal Program Officer to join a specialised team with one of Queensland government agencies.
This is a strategic role focused on improving capital grants processes and providing advice that guides significant investment across the state's asset base.
The Opportunity
You will work with a small, engaged team to review, develop, and improve the grants management ecosystem. This role is non-routine and is dedicated to driving efficiency, improving data quality, and ensuring that investment outcomes align with strategic objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Includes:
... - Business Improvement Leadership: Lead activities by analyzing and evaluating current grant management practices, processes, tools, and resources to introduce reform.
- Methodology and Governance: Provide expert advice on developing appropriate methodologies, metrics, and systems required to effectively manage and implement the grants management ecosystem.
- Oversight and Administration: Oversee contract, financial, and records management activities for funding agreements. You will also coordinate program activities, including risk management and regional engagement for key programs.
- Strategic Reporting: Coordinate and contribute to the development of major briefings, reports, submissions, and advice for senior management regarding the program's key objectives.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Provide high-level advice to, and negotiate with, diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and client groups
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is an inquisitive and analytical leader with a proven understanding of funding frameworks
Including:
- Grants/Program Experience: Experienced in program or grants management, with a strong understanding of funding frameworks and the political reporting environment.
- Analytical Acumen: Able to translate complex ideas into actionable recommendations and develop best practice guidelines to strengthen quality data controls.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting briefings, reports, and submissions.
- Engagement: Strong engagement experience with diverse internal and external stakeholders
