Are you a spatial data professional looking to play a vital role in the management of community green spaces? Randstad Digital are working with clients to find a Parks GIS Officer to join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and supporting spatial information systems that drive strategic outcomes for park maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of spatial data, directly impacting the quality of public environments and contract delivery. This role is an initial 3 month contract, with the view to extend past that point.
Responsibilities
- Create, manipulate, and manage spatial asset databases and mapping layers for parks maintenance sites.
- Develop and collate accurate GIS maps and maintenance schedules required for tender processes.
- Lead and undertake GIS projects to ensure the delivery of efficient spatial information products to all stakeholders.
- Ensure the timely and up-to-date maintenance of GIS data for new, deleted, or modified maintenance sites.
- Assist in improving systems and processes for the effective delivery of park contract maintenance services.
- Provide technical advice, project support, and mentoring to the branch.
Necessary Skills
- Demonstrated high-level skills (preferably using ESRI-Arc GIS) and knowledge of spatial concepts and standards.
- Ability to create and manage spatial asset databases, applications, and mapping layers specifically for maintenance sites.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills to provide technical advice and mapping support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience participating in contract tendering and administration processes.
